Getting started
What is Seven16 Email?
Seven16 Email is an insurance-aware outreach and CRM-lite platform for producers, agencies, wholesalers, MGAs, and niche insurance teams. It turns structured data — lead lists, broker and agency records, DOT carrier intelligence — into compliant, trackable email campaigns and automated follow-up sequences.
Unlike a generic newsletter tool, it is built around the insurance workflow: renewal signals, appetite-matched segments, purpose-aware compliance (marketing vs operational vs transactional), and outcome attribution (submissions → quotes → binds → premium) when connected to your CRM or a Seven16 operating system.
Creating your workspace and starting the free trial
1. Sign in with Google or a magic link at the sign-in page.
2. First-time users are taken to onboarding to name their workspace (your agency's space for contacts, campaigns, and sending).
3. Naming the workspace starts your 7-day free trial automatically — no credit card required.
Your trial includes 100 contacts and 500 email sends. After 7 days the workspace switches to read-only until you choose a plan; your contacts and data are always safe and exportable.
Trucking & DOT
Activating DOT Intel carrier leads
DOT Intel is the Seven16 family's trucking/carrier intelligence product. When it's connected, carrier records — DOT number, authority age, fleet/power-unit size, operation type, state, and risk signals — flow straight into your Seven16 Email contacts as a ready-to-target audience, tagged with their source. You don't re-key anything: leads land as contacts with the carrier fields already populated, so you can segment and personalize immediately.
To connect it, go to Settings → Integrations (or ask us to provision it for you). If you don't use DOT Intel yet, you can still import carrier lists by CSV — but DOT Intel keeps them fresh and attributed automatically.
Sending & deliverability
Deliverability best practices
To stay out of spam:
1. Authenticate your own domain (SPF/DKIM) before sending real volume.
2. Send to people who expect to hear from you; import clean lists and remove bad addresses.
3. Warm up — ramp volume gradually rather than blasting a cold list on day one.
4. Keep content relevant and include a clear unsubscribe (added automatically on marketing sends).
5. Watch bounces and complaints; suppression handles hard bounces and unsubscribes for you, but high rates hurt reputation.
Compliance
Send purposes: marketing, operational, transactional
Every send is classified by purpose, and the platform applies the right rules automatically:
- Marketing — promotional outreach. Requires an unsubscribe link and a physical-address footer (added automatically), and respects unsubscribes.
- Operational — service/relationship messages to your book (e.g., a broker update or emergency notice). Lighter footer requirements.
- Transactional — 1:1 triggered messages (e.g., a receipt). Not blocked by marketing suppression, but still logged.
This purpose-aware model lets you run both everyday communication and prospecting from one platform without tripping compliance.
Integrations & API
What integrations does Seven16 Email have?
See the full list at /integrations. In short:
- Seven16 family (one click, no keys): DOT Intel pushes carrier/FMCSA data straight into your contacts; Seven16 Command / Bind Lab read engagement and write back outcomes (submissions, quotes, binds, premium).
- Bring your own data: CSV import, or the signed REST API (/v1) for headless imports.
- Sending: your own verified domain, plus one-off transactional sends via the API.
- Events out: real-time outbound webhooks for delivery and engagement events.
- Coming soon: Sendblue SMS (bring your own key), more family data sources (DotCarriers, DotAgencies), and Zapier.
Don't see what you need? The /integrations page has a "Request an integration" link that files a tracked support ticket.
Connecting Seven16 products (DOT Intel, Command, BindLab)
Seven16 Email is the activation layer of the Seven16 product family. Other products push data in and read outcomes back over a signed, HMAC-verified integration mesh:
- DOT Intel can push carrier/insurance leads and DOT data straight into your contacts as a ready-to-target segment.
- Your CRM / operating system (Seven16 Command, BindLab, or a supported CRM) receives engagement events and returns outcomes (submissions, quotes, binds, premium) so campaigns attribute to revenue.
Email tracks engagement natively; connected systems supply the outcome data. This is what turns open/click reporting into revenue reporting.
The Seven16 family
Which Seven16 product fits what
Seven16 Email is the outreach engine; the rest of the Seven16 family feeds it data or captures the outcomes. Which one fits depends on what you need:
- Need trucking/carrier leads and data? → DOT Intel (carrier intelligence: DOT number, authority age, fleet size, risk signals — straight into your contacts).
- Prospecting trucking companies at scale? → DotCarriers (trucking prospect lists by state, fleet size, authority age).
- Recruiting or reaching agencies? → DotAgencies (agency-directory outreach) and Seven16 Intel (agency, market, and opportunity intelligence).
- Wholesale / MGA operations (submissions, quotes, binds)? → Bind Lab, the Wholesale & MGA operating system.
- A system of record to attribute outcomes (submissions → binds → premium) back to campaigns? → Seven16 Command or Bind Lab.
- Producer training and credentialing? → Seven16 Academy.
Everything connects over one secure integration mesh, so data flows in and outcomes flow back without re-keying. Email stays your activation layer; the connected product stays the system of record.
Running low on people to email?
Seven16 Email activates data — you can bring your own list, but the family products are built to feed it:
- DOT Intel → carrier/trucking leads with insurance-relevant fields.
- DotCarriers → trucking prospects by state, fleet size, authority age.
- DotAgencies → agency-directory targets for recruiting and market access.
- Seven16 Intel → agency, market, and opportunity intelligence.
Any of them can push targeted, deduplicated contacts straight into your workspace, so your next campaign starts with a better audience instead of a blank list. Ask us to connect one and we'll provision it.
Billing & trial
How the free trial works
The free trial runs 7 days with no credit card. It includes 100 contacts and 500 email sends. A countdown banner in the app shows days remaining and how many sends and contacts you have left.
When the trial ends, the workspace becomes read-only: you can still sign in, view everything, and export your data, but sending, importing, launching campaigns, and adding contacts pause until you choose a plan. Nothing is deleted. Subscribing restores full access immediately.
Trials are one per person and one per company, so you can't restart a fresh trial by making a new account with the same or a company email.
Plans, upgrading, and canceling
Billing is monthly with no long-term contract — you can cancel anytime and keep access through the end of the period you've paid for. Manage everything under Settings → Billing: pick a plan, see days left on your trial, and open the billing portal to update your card, change plans, or cancel.
Higher plans raise your contact and send limits. Your current usage (sends this month, contacts used) is shown on the billing page so you can see where you are against your plan.

Billing is monthly with no long-term contract — cancel anytime and keep access through the end of the period you've paid for. Manage everything under Dashboard → Settings → Billing: pick a plan, see days left on your trial, view your usage meters, and open the billing portal (Stripe) to update your card, change plans, or cancel.
Seven16 Email offers 7 plans ranging from $59 to $799 per month, so you can start small and move up as your book and sending grow. Higher plans raise your contact and monthly send limits. You can compare tiers on the Pricing page (/pricing).
How to change your plan:
1. Go to Dashboard → Settings → Billing.
2. Review your current usage (sends this month, contacts used) so you can see where you are against your plan.
3. Choose a plan or open the billing portal.
4. Update payment, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel — changes take effect immediately.
Each plan pairs a contact cap with a monthly send cap; if you're bumping into either, upgrading here raises them right away.

There are seven plans, ranging from $59 to $799 per month, so you can start small and step up as your book grows. Plans differ on your contact and send limits, and on sending model — managed sending versus bringing your own (BYO) sending setup. Higher plans raise your contact and send limits.

Account & security
Data ownership, export, and security
Your data is yours. You can export your contacts and records at any time, including during a read-only trial lockout. Workspaces are isolated from one another (row-level security), secrets are encrypted at rest, and access is role-controlled and audit-logged. See the Privacy Policy and Terms for the full detail.
